Welcome to Voices for Seniors
Voices for Seniors was founded out of unimaginable heartbreak — the loss of our beloved mother in a New York nursing home during
the earliest, most uncertain days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Like thousands of families, we were kept away, silenced, and left without answers. What began as a cry for truth has grown into a powerful movement for accountability, justice, and change.
For over six years, we’ve been advocating on behalf of the forgotten — the residents of long-term care facilities and their families. Through public testimony, media appearances, grassroots organizing, and direct outreach to lawmakers, we’ve become a voice for
those who can’t always speak for themselves.
We fight for transparency. We fight for dignity. We fight so that no other family has to endure what we did.
What We Do:
-
Advocate for policy changes and real oversight in nursing homes
-
Push for prosecution and accountability when wrongdoing occurs
-
Mobilize families across the country to demand answers
-
Support legislation like the Essential Caregivers Act
-
Offer tools for families to share their stories and review facilities
Why It Matters:
Too many seniors were isolated, neglected, or lost their lives under preventable conditions — and families were left in the dark. We are here to change that. We believe families deserve a voice. And we won’t stop until they’re heard.
Voices for Seniors – 2026 Focus Areas:
In 2026, Voices for Seniors is focused on initiatives that strengthen protections for long-term care residents, promote transparency in
elder care, and provide families with the resources and education they need. Key areas of focus include:
-
Advocating for the Essential Caregivers Act – Supporting policies that ensure family members can play an active role in the care of their loved ones.
-
Promoting Nursing Home Transparency – Pushing for legislation that enhances oversight, including the use of technology to safeguard residents.
-
Education and Outreach – Expanding programs to inform families, caregivers, and communities about best practices and rights in long-term care.
Through these efforts, we aim to empower families, protect vulnerable seniors, and create meaningful change in nursing home care across the state.
